I happened to sit next to a few folks that had never seen the structure problem, and of course they made the mistake of asking me what it was all about;-) Every one of them walked away impressed. The disturbing part, as you note, is that we in the structure problems seem to be somewhat isolated from the folks doing the other problems. However on the positive side, I do think that our problem is a personal favorite of Dr.Sam's so maybe the reasons for apparent lack of interest in structures is related to the daunting level of information and knowledge required to be a top competitor. On a related note, I remember remarking to my co-coach last year that us folks from the USA need to watch out for "up and coming" international teams, and I do believe my prediction was accurate based on what we saw this year. Just like our new "world economy", the folks from the USA can't afford to sit back and just expect to dominate this problem as they have in the past. I think we'll need to step things up a notch in order to keep up with some of these truly gifted and talented international teams at our future world comps. Sheesh, more pressure... AC
