AC, I believe the rule you're talking about specified how it will be measured. I don't think it ever said it will be measure this way and only this way. Had it said that, I would fully support your complaint... it didn't. The rules did also specify a height 8"... which I won't voice an opinion on. It's unfortunate that there was disparity in the way it was judged, but I think everyone is hoping (and working to make sure) this doesn't happen again. And believe it or not, your wish for more "freedom" is not the only opinion out there. There are those teams who actually believe that the rules should be strictly enforced. After all, rules and rules.
