Last year we were "stuck" with the structure problem as first year coaches, and 7th graders that had never done a structure problem. Check with your high school to see if there are any former OMers or coaches that could give a general building technique seminar and talk about jigs. Last year it took until February before the team held any significant weight. Through a fluke, we only held 75 pounds at State, but it was enough to take them to worlds where they used the same basic design but better building technique and they held 455 lbs. Style is simply the WOW factor. It is a way to get teams to try to do something totally unique in there presentation. Make sure you get your builders to continue practicing their cutting and gluing techniques. Hope this helps.TB
